EXT. CONEY ISLAND, NY (EARLY MORNING)
When I was about 19, my best friend and I decided that one day we would move to New York to become artists. I still pursue that dream everyday. The dream of becoming a true writer.
Sometimes, when I miss the mountain city of Bogotá, where I grew up, I think of my favorite writer, Julio Cortázar. He was an Argentinean living in Paris, the city where writers went to become writers in the 50's and being there he realized that no matter where he lived, he would still be a Latin American writer .
I grew up in the mountains love the ocean, so moving to LA after ten years in NYC felt very natural.
